Steyn or Adler hosting Power and Politics?

After watching Rosemary bomb her guest host spot on P&P, I started a webpoll of who you would like to see hosting the show. Thus far Charles Adler and Mark Steyn are in a dead heat, Rex Murphy is in a distant 3rd. Obviously both are talented broadcasters, though I suspect Steyn might be better on television. Adler is phenomenal as a voice on the radio, but having never watched him on TV, I cannot comment as to his prowess on that medium.

I love Adler on the show he hosts, but if I could get Mark Steyn on Prime Time CBC Newsworld, where do I sign? Or should I say, where do I Steyn?

  1. I gave the nod to Adler, which maintained the dead heat. Either would be great, and a substantial change to invoke an uptick in the ratings graph. It is imperative for such a show to have a host who's knowledgeable, stylish, and relevant.

  2. Both will do for me, just in case one is indispose for some reason or another, I will also add Lowell Green, David Rutherford to set the record straight over the so call dispute over the 'oil sand', I will also would like Peter Kent, a former television broadcaster and journalist, to broadcast the real news.
I would also have Christie Blatchford to be the military reporter and she alone will report on/for them instead of CLARK, TABER FIFE MATHERSON,MANSBRIDGE etc who have no idea no clue at to who our military are.

CBC CTV GLOBAL particularly CBC a station we pay will be fumagated from top to bottom- to remove the stench of corruption and garbage.

If the Iraqi men can see through Saddam's media to say to a reporter that Saddam's media did not speak for the public. We can do the same. Today, Iraq has a new media-saddam's own is gone and if the iraqis can accomplish thus far in having a new media that speaks for the public-we can dam well do the same.

  3. I would watch either of those three since CTV is disapointing lately.

  5. I guess being a West Coast (transplanted) I am well aware of Adler and he would make an excellent host. Prior to Don Newman retiring, I was hoping he would be the replacement. It didn't happen unfortunately.
Mark Steyn would be my second choice.
    Tom Clark - Not impressive.
Rosemary Barton - another (Jane Taber) wannabe, who does not have the "Right stuff."

  6. I would like to add one more name ahead of Rex Murphy and that would be Dave Rutherford who broadcasts on the Corus network. Charles & David would be an exceptional choices has I have seen both of them at times kon CTV Mike Duffy live. David had often filled in for Mike Duffy when Mike was away

  7. Why not both? Seriously though, until they scrap CBC, the Tories should at least give Adler a show. Maybe he can take over from the 100,000 rating (not so) funny guy Strombo.
