Asking Tough Questions...

Mr. Ignatieff's official position on the prorogation of Parliament is that the government is clearly doing it to avoid having to answer "tough questions" in Question Period. Maybe Mike did not read the immigration brochure when he returned to Canada after 30 years abroad, but Question Period is hardly a source of pride with Canadians. As a point of fact, the majority of Canadians feel embarrassed when they happen to watch it, seeing the childish behavior of politicians of all ilks.

I'm one of the Last Mohicans who actually watches this facade on a semi-daily basis. And the more I think about it, the happier I am that we are going to mute it during the Olympic Games. Thank you! Look, Ujjal Dosangh will be able to ask his tough questions in March, because we all remember that Uje asked Glen Clark a lot of tough questions once upon a time. Bob Rae will be allowed to ask his tough questions also. Some Liberal bloggers are already starting to call for the new era of Bob Rae.

We are setting up to host the World. I would be embarrassed to have foreign dignitaries and athlete's who are just visiting turn on the TV and watch Bob Rae rile our guests with his nonsensical daily affirmations. Let's end the Senate filibuster and get down to work. Some pundits pontificate that the Tories have a weak legislative agenda, but I contend that a Budget in an economic recovery is a pretty significant legislative agenda. We are also in the process of implementing an Economic Action plan to help our economy recover. I don't see the next two months as a vacation. Every Minister should be preparing their portfolios for the March budget. This budget it very important.  Under the stewardship of Jim Flaherty, the TSX has gained 4000 points in 10 months, despite the unelected Senate filibustering the legislative agenda of the elected house.

Thank you Mister Prime Minister and thank you Michaelle Jean. I fully endorse Michaelle Jean for a second term as Governor General. The left hates her, and I generally take that as a strong endorsement that a government official is doing a good job. Though if Preston Manning wanted the job, I'd give it to him. Wouldn't it be awesome if Presto became the Governor General, and Stephen Harper moved into the GG's mansion while they did the retrofit to 24 Sussex?

  1. Do Toronto Liberals even realize that Ujjal Dosangh is extremely unpopular in British Columbia? The people who lived under his stead like him the least of all Canadians. He barely won his riding in the last election.

    Glen Clark, je me souviens.

  2. There is a good poll question for you, who should be the next GG? I like Jean, Hillier, Lewis MacKenzie, Preston, but the real kicker would be Deb Grey, how wonderful would that be! HA. Or as I suggested before Ralph Klein would really send the lefties around the bend.

  3. do toronto liberals know that their liberal paarty still owe them money or do they not mind.
Do they also know that the national media where the LPOC like to hide behind, like to treat the public like dumb-asses.

Without the national media-the liberal party of canada have no one else to hide their dirty corruption thievery etc from people like us.

  5. Yeah, I could live with Ms.Jean as GG a second time around. When Chretien appointed her,I figured she'd be another Liberal elitist type like Adrien Clarkson.

Boy, was I EVER WRONG! She's the best person in the GG's office in a long time.

Ujjal Dosanjh is a good little Liberal whore and will obey every command from the Leader of the day, be it Rae,Ignatieff,Trudeau, Bin Laden,Putin, etc., without question or quibble.

Like any good Liberal, he doesn't see "right" or "wrong" on any issue, only whether it's beneficial to the Liberal Party.

He IS popular with a segment of the Sikh population in the Lower Mainland, mainly because he's won a few times, but next time around, they'd better count the votes most carefully in his riding.

Not that I'd suggest anything untoward on the Honourable Mr.Dosanjh's part.

  6. Of course Dosanjh was willing to put Clark on trial. He stood to GAIN from Clark being knocked off. Big-time conflict of interest, there; if Dosanjh had any integrity he would not have run for leadership of the B.C. NDP (and ironically, he would not have gone down to such an ignominious defeat. A thrashing.

I'm from B.C., and I cannot stand the guy.

  7. Although I think Jean has done an outstanding job as Governor General, I'd like to see Lewis McKenzie in that position, next.

  8. I think it was PM Martin who appointed the current GG. A term is 5 yrs, and who was PM 5 yrs ago, if PMSH is entering his 5th yr.

  9. Yes, Paul Martin appointed Jean as GG. She's really surprised me; she's the right stuff.

  10. No, Michelle thought she was Head of State. I want the next GG to have some serious Canadian constitutional credentials, not a journalist.
