This evening for the first time in my life I watched CTV's Power Play. I heard that Taber was hosting a debate between Attaran and retired Major General Lewis MacKenzie on the subject of Afghan Detainee-gate. It was outstanding! If I could recommend people watch only one clip on this issue, it has to be MacKenzie vs Attaran with Taber stuck in the cross fire. This is a must watch. Attaran completely falls apart. To watch him collapse in the middle of a debate on the issue that he claims to be an expert in, you have to question the wisdom of hiring him as legal representation.

Mac is my favorite choice for the new GG but selfishly I want him to remain available to save us fiercely normal and proud Canadians at time such as this smack-down.

ReplyDeleteAttaran never claims that his client was present at the event, but rather that his client translated the interviews with the prisoners covered in explosive residue after the fact. His entire case is built on Canadian soldiers and officials lying and covering up a war crime based on the hearsay version of testimony from Taliban combatants.

That lawyer is the absolute picture of condescending Liberal elitist entitlement. Seeing him talk down to the General that way is sickening. To think that air conditioned tower mole has anything to teach one of our best is insulting. Its time to send these scum back to their hives. We have more important things to do.
ReplyDeleteI won't hold my breath on Attaran calling the CDS a liar but that is exactly what he implied at the end when he says "why do we have to take him at his word?"
ReplyDeleteI hope this interview goes viral throughout Canada, Major General Lewis Mackenzie wearing his order of Canada pin, clearly explaining the situation. While this scumbag of a lawyer calls the CDS a liar. It's so obvious the opposition parties are condemning our brave troops for partisan gain. Mr. Zsohar where is your "True Patriot Love"? I consider everyone of ours in any deployment; especially Afghanistan, a true Canadian Hero, right down to the Tim Horton's staff. It is insulting that some Canadians are so partisan that they would allow our troops to hang.

Just googled the lawyer and can't find any info on him ever being admitted to the bar, in any province. So, has he ever been admitted to the bar, so he can argue cases in Court. And it said he first brought evidence re afghan prisoners in Feb 2007. Has he been to Afghanistan since that time, or is all his talk just based on hearsay from post Feb 2007 and hearsay of others.
ReplyDeleteAs for the interpreter saying he could bring eye witnesses from Afghan, how many of them would be family members. And how many would lie to get a free ride in Canada.
