Rosemary's Confusion and Layton P.I

Rosemary Barton at the CBC announced several times today that she is confused about the latest statement from Helena Guergis. I understand if she is easily confused, but it was amusing to see on TV. She spent most of her day running around Parliament Hill trying to get to the bottom of something that ultimately had no bearing on the matter. Both Barton and O'Malley can barely contain their glee when discussing this story. If it is as serious as you are suggesting it is, you probably shouldn't be joyful when you discuss it on our national public broadcaster.

She did crack up laughing about Jack Layton's "Magnum PI" drop in Question Period today. Though it was tough to tell who was laughing more, Rosie after he said it, or Jack while he was saying it. You can see that Lucky Jack was quite pleased with himself when he said it, but he had to pause for applause before finally getting a delayed reaction. Very professional Jack. Magnum PI drops in Question Period. Do any foreign dignitaries actually watch our QP? I'd be embarrassed if they did.

Soloman seems to have made at least a dozen references to “explosive testimony” on the detainee matter. Nearly every day that anyone speaks in committee, Evan and his people repeatedly use the word explosive to describe the testimony. I’m not sure if Team Solo is aware of the phenomenon of diminishing marginal returns. I do wonder why Evan insists on using this particular adjective as much as he does, but I’m not about to start a double entendre conspiracy theory...

The longer they put Scott Reid on the air, the more arrogant he becomes. If you watched him today, he was completely full of himself.

  1. The real "explosive" part of the detainee affair will be just how much the former Liberal government knew of prisoners being abused.

  2. I heard Jack's Magnum PI stupid comment. So corny, it was embarrassing.
I think these guys watch too many Canadian content programs on the CBC.

  3. Might I take a moment to say how much respect I have for Tom Selleck in the role of Magnum PI. How dare Jack take Magnum's name in vain. I am disgusted!

  4. I know the private eye who was conducting a 19 month investigation that led to Harper calling in the RCMP. Look for an article in the Toronto Star on Thursday (April 15th)

  5. I'm back with more info from the PI who was conducting the investigation.

IGNATIEFF KNEW! Here is a piece of info direct from the PI, and not found anywhere else:

"Since the cat is out of the bag. I am out of the country currently but checking news online. For the last week I have heard Iggy preaching away about how Canadians had to know and why was he in the dark...blah blah blah..and abusing the Primer Minister...COMPLETE CRAP

If you have a Liberal MP call them and let them know what a sleezy pathetic ploy this was and a deceit on all Canadians. I will supply anyone who needs it a sworn affidavit of the fact below.

On the direction of my client I called Mr. Ignatieffs chief of staff at 3:58pm on Thursday the 8th of April. A man named Peter Donolo. I identified myself to the staff and told them who I was in relation to the story and that my client had directed me to brief Mr. Ignatieff...THE GUY REFUSED TO BE BRIEFED!!! They indicated that they had no interest in the matter. Then Iggy starts his BS with the PM about people have to know...he was offered first dibbs ahead of the PM by the client. He is such a scumbag IMHO

Please note that this was in advance of me speaking to the Conservative lawyers

  6. Me again.

I have just been informed by my PI friend (Derek Snowdy) that he informed CTV's Robert Fife of everything I posted in my 10:29 PM update.

He informed Fife by telephone at 6:11 PM on Wednesday April 14th 2010.

Robert chose not to report it. At least not yet.

  7. Graham, I don't know who you are or if you are speaking the truth. If you're on the level this is a story for the a real journalist. I watch the news and write my opinion, I don't break news.

  8. Iceman: I am only repeating what the PI at the centre of this, Derek Snowdy has told me. He updated me again with the following:

"I have decided to let you all on on these things with the consent of my clients. They have been reported to two media sources however they have not reported this.

During the course of this investigation the case was brought to the attention of the RCMP on 3 different occasions by three different people including two well known and reliable confidential informants. In one case the situation was explained to an Officer (Insp) of the RCMP who talked the victim out of filing an official complaint. Seems like they were prepared to let this little situation go on and on. Was it to allow those involved to engage in activities that could humiliate the Conservative Prime Minister? You decide...should you wish to contact you MP with these questions and require an affidavit let us know."

If the media is ignoring the information that is coming directly from their own conversations with Derek, what chance do I have of getting them to believe me? If you have any suggestions on who to send it to please let me know. I just sent it to Steve Janke.

  9. Wouldn't it be a refreshing change if the MSM was actually letting Mr. Ignatieff and Mr. Donolo walk themselves right up to the edge of a precipice before dropping the bomb that pushes them off the edge.

    Hubris....interesting choice of weapon....

However, I'm not holding my breath...

    to continue with your statement

....... and just how much the media know about it back then; the silence is deafening.

I don't know who the opposition parties and their media are fooling must be themselves since the talibans listens to them. the taliban gets its informations from the opposition parties, CBC CTV and they know that they the taliban detainees, are highly respected more so their own canadian troops, innocent canadians and afghans.
One thing for sure Anon, the taliban know where their bread is well buttered and will use it to their every advantage.

  11. Fife has just corroborated your story on CTV, Tuesday April 15 @ 8.45 am PST.

BTW Janke has been off the radar for about a month, so that was likely a waste of time.

  14. Jack's motive on making Magnum PI references is to ensure his moustache has staying power.
