My 10 Favourite Shows On Television

This evening I decided to make a list of my favourite shows on television, with the intention of asking you which of my favourite shows you like the most. I am probably going to have to rank South Park as my number one show on television. These past couple of seasons have risen to a whole new level, starting with Cartman as Dog the Bounty Hunter and their Lord of the Rings spoof. I have recently started watching My Name is Earl and Billy the Exterminator, and a CBC program even made my list, Dragon's Den. Let's be fair, Kevin O'Leary is the only reason to watch that show.

I tried to pick shows that are currently in production, but if one of these has ended, so be it.

1) South Park: The only show that I will go online to view the latest episode.

2) Dragon's Den: Other than Hockey Night in Canada, the only good show on the CBC.

3) My Name is Earl: Jason Lee is hilarious. The first one I watched was the "Sweet Johnny" episode, and I was instantly hooked.

4) Mythbusters: Eventually they have to run out of myths, right?

5) Entourage: It has gotten decidedly worse each season. Ari Gold and Johnny Drama make the show what it is.

6) Billy the Exterminator: A new show, but I love it.

7) NCIS: The LA version is brutal, but the one with Mark Harmon is fantastic.

8) The Office: I have never seen the British version.

9) Numb3rs: For a mathematician this show is brain candy.

10) Deadliest Warriors: Eventually they will run out of warriors, but it is a fascinating program.

  2. South Park is the best.
The Office, the American version is a good variation on the original.
I believe that Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant mandated that versions in other countries follow the plot lines of the first season of the original series.

  3. How about none of the above? Seriously, if I watch TV at all, I turn on the food channel. I have not watched any of the shows you have listed.

  4. Well then Hunter, change the poll question to "if you had to watch one of my favourite shows". The objective of my poll is to figure out which of my ten favourite shows is most prefered by those who visit my site.

    The Big Bang Theory

    American Dad

  6. 1)Curb your Enthusiasm - Larry David rocks, this show is always top notch..

2)Robot Chicken - This show just makes me laugh, really got into this last year.

    3)Lost - Great show.

4)Community - New show but it is awesome. This just got bumped into my favourite shows based on the recent episode "Modern Warfare". The best episode of TV I have seen in a long time.

5)South Park - Brilliant, that is all.

6)Entourage - Everything you said on this I agree.

7)The Office - It use to be higher on my list, but it is getting worse. I am acutally starting to like Parks and Recs more.

8)Californication - Interesting to say the least.

    9) NFL Total Access -It's on the NFL network, always watch at 7. Even at this time of the year.

    10)Deadliest Catch - Insane.

Off the air and would rank higher then the above..

    Sienfeld
    The Wire
    Arrested Development
    Fresh Prince
    My Name is Earl
    Sopranos

I change my mind often on favourite shows, so that is what they are for now.

  7. By the way, shame on you for watching NCIS. The worst show on TV.

  10. No specific order
1.South Park -Butters is the best
    2.Fringe - great cast
    3.Flash Forward - real messed up sci-fi
4.Kid vs Kat - the cat is so evil
5.Doctor Who - wish they revive Red Dwarf
6.Keeping Up with the Kardashians - just love self centred egotistical plastic surgery altered no talent rich kids.
7.Desperate House Wives - now what is this show about?
8.Little Mosque on the Prairies - original
9.Steven and Chris - learned how to lisp
    10.etalk - why?

  11. Sorry to disagree with you Patrick, but I'd have to say that almost anything on CBC is THE worst show on TV. Anybody remember Little Mosque? But I'll cut you some slack because otherwise you've got a pretty good looking list. ;o)

Iceman, off hand the only addition I would make would be "The First 48". Sergeant Caroline Mason is the BOMB!

And "The Hoarders" because they make me look downright tidy.

  12. PR Why would you say NCIS is the worst show on TV??

  13. Actually, I like 4, 7, and 10. I like the way NCIS handles social relationships better than the CSI franchises.

Of those, I prefer CSI:NY. Probably because cynicism and NY go together so well.

Others? Well, there's Top Gear, Kamen Rider W, Have I Got News for You, QI with Stephen Fry.

You can tell I use YouTube a lot, can't you?

  14. I liked Deadliest Warriors until they started calling criminals and gang bangers "warriors." Maybe the producers do realize the real thing is in limited supply.

  15. CSI, all of them, Numbers, Criminal Minds, and Cold Case. And if it comes back, that Skating show with past hockey stars.
Other than that it is Fox news shows.
Just wondering, are there any soap operas on anymore.
Hey, is that Mosque show still on.

  16. Greta and the "O'Really?" on Fox but my wife says NCIS!

  17. lol, personal taste is exactly that.

Having dumped tradition cable nearly a decade ago I don't know many of the shows on the list.

May have had access to(300+ channel universe for several years during the Grey Market Dish-American battle).

Bell Ontario Bundle $140 p/mth. My Primus bundle is around 70 without cable.

Quality of Signal, poor customer service issues have not changed in the years.

A move between two urban centres Mississauga-Oakville demostrated the incompetence or lack of interest in keeping the customer happy.

I vote with my dollars, reduce, actively limit feeding of the knobs with my money.

I rent or buy the season on DVD. The Public Library is also very close.

Won't re-visit a restaurant for bad service, bad food etc.

Deadliest Warrior looks interesting. Also having built 200+ DVD library allows for viewing my choice on my schedule.

  18. I agree with you about Dragon's Den.

The only other show I watch religiously is Medium. It has a great story line, well developed characters and actors that look normal.

    The daughter Bridgette is hilarious.

For all of those reasons I am certain it is about to be canceled.

  19. You folks all watch too much TV.

  20. You missed V. Its no better than Star Trek ever was, which means its pretty good but not HBO quality.

Give Spartacus: Blood and Sand a try too. The first episode is over the top but then it gets really really good.

  21. South Park is a great show, but my favourite shows are Hoarders and Kitchen Nightmares. These take a backseat to Seinfeld and Friends reruns, though.

  22. No love for Billy the Exterminator? It is a new show on A&E.

  23. I rather like South Park, if only because it is about as politically incorrect as you can hope...

  24. LOTS of love for Billy the Exterminator!

How can you not love Billy with all his tats, the whole Goth thing, his MOM, and the way he squeals like a little girl when he comes face to face with a copperhead! Of course, that copperhead thing, I'd probably be squealing too if I didn't already faint.

Series finale of 24 coming up in 15 minutes. Just enough time to pop the corn and crack open a nice cold pint. Enjoy!
