Iggy Needs A Teleprompter

Somebody had better tell the Liberal Party that they need to get their gaffe prone leader on a teleprompter lickity split. It is becoming increasingly apparent that this man's intelligence and charisma have been vastly overrated, and Donolo would be well advised to take a cue from the Obama people putting Iggy on prompter for the rest of his public appearances. It is much easier to be a great public speaker when getting all words spoon fed to the candidate from the war room. I have even seen Obama addressing kindergarten students with his teleprompters!

Also somebody had better tell the Liberals that if they are going to get indignant about prorogation and not being allowed to do their jobs, it would be smart to actually show up to work when Parliament is in session. Most of the shadow cabinet had a better attendance rate during their anti-prorogation workshops than they did when Parliament was in session.

Get your leader on a teleprompter and show up to vote on legislation. That is my advice today for the Liberal Party of Canada.

  1. Good advice indeed Iceman. Here are a couple of things he said in Peterborough that might interest you.

    About contraband cigarettes:

"Tackling contraband cigarettes, Mr. Ignatieff says, is more than a law enforcement problem.

He says it's hurting convenience store owners and bothers aboriginal communities.

The federal government has to be involved," he adds.

Though there are tax issues, he says revenue loss isn't the only issue. It's also about public order and it's straining relations with the aboriginal community.

A national solution needs to be found, he states, and when it is, it will help curb children taking up the addiction."

    About lost manufacturing jobs:

"I don't believe in market miracles," he says.

Solutions could involve Trent University and Fleming College, and need to incorporate some of the big local employers.

Local leadership networks need to put a plan together, he says, which will be backed up by federal assistance and money."

Iggy was briefed on local problems but offered little in terms of solutions. Just the usual platitudes, assuring everyone that the Liberals would fix everything. How is anybody's guess.

And finally, about how he knows Peterborough:

"I used to come to Peterborough a lot as a kid because of a family connection," he says, noting he loves to come back.

"It's just such a beautiful place."

Gee. Betcha that got everyone there gushing. And if this is fact, there must be some reference to Peterborough in his book "True patriot love" chronicling his time in Canada. Anyone know?

Along with a teleprompter, I think the Liberals need to recruit a ventriloquist to deliver his speeches. All Iggy would have to do is move his lips.

  2. No, let Iggy be Iggy. Every time he open his mouth another Liberal voter defects.

We need to stop taking about his magical mystery tour and start talking about real issues like the economy....oh heck, he's so much fun we need to tell everyone about devils and broken buses fixed by Harper Diesel.

  3. So, about that fighter jet contract that Iffy will stop,
errr review, or maybe just come to the same conclusion over the sole source contract,
that was actually a 2 bid contract (says Peter McKay),
just so we are clear, any one of the above may happen if Iffy is PM, they are not sure yet which way they will go, says known Liberal source.
    note
The Chretien government bought into the F35 project, right from the beginning (1990s), DND and Industry Canada forked over $160 million to become a partner, 2002.
Right now Canadian companies and universities have 144 contracts with the F35 project, big time pay off. Contracts worth billions, run until 2023.

Canada gets some of the investment money back too, if we purchasse J35s.

Why would Canada invest so heavily in the J35 project and not purchase the product?

(scroll 1/2 way to see Canada's involvement)

  4. When you have to spend day 3 of our big cross country tour explaining that you aren't going to accept that job offer from U of T, you are in big trouble.

  5. 'Iggy Needs A Teleprompter'

He has already -how many?- CBC CTV GLOBAL, TABER, Oliver, Fife,,,,,,,,,,,.

Any mistakes by the liberals and coalition will be instantly re-corrected by them-the teleprompters.

Iceman, the liberals want to get rid of Ignatieff but can't so they have come up with another solution that will suit Ignatieff which is to work at an university but Ignatieff, smelling the hate from his own caucus is not going to give them that satisfaction.
When he, not others, decides to step down then and only then will he determine where he wants to go.

This whole removable of Ignatieff as the liberal leader to a more suitable place where he finds comfort in is a more gentle tone than firing him.

  7. Who really believes he would not accept the job, just cause he says no. How many more years does he need to qualify for an MP pension.
I think he has two more years to go.
Then he will flip flop and take the job at UofT.

  8. No teleprompter for this guy. He is the smartest guy in the room. Just ask him. No scripts for him. He is only talking to the rubes in the country. They will believe anything they're told. Right!

The man is a fool and with the leftie media turning on him i.e. Travers, Salutin and Riley he is in for a heap of trouble during an election campaign.

Trouble with the carpetbagger is Canadians have taken the measure of the man and have found him lacking in so many ways.

Going into an election with leadership polls showing you at 14% is not a good idea. However, at some point he is going to have to sh.t or get off the pot. The caucus is not going to continually support the Harper government.
