Jimmy The Deficit Slayer

All hail Jim Flaherty and Stephen Harper for their magnificent fiscal leadership during this so-called "Great Recession" (at least that's what Don Newman called it). Today it was announced that our deficit reduction is going so well that we are expected to be back in surplus a year ahead of schedule. Of course Jane Taber did not mention this latest news when she was setting the Globe and Mail's agenda today. The PM's Chief of Staff speaking at a legal seminar signals the sky is falling, but God forbid she set the Globe's agenda to actually report news that reflects favorably on our Government.

I seem to recall Ignatieff not wanting anything to do with the responsibility of dealing with this "Great Recession" when it was in its infancy. I found a great video where Iggy actually says in early 2009 "we are living in an exceptional, extraordinary period which is Mr Harper's responsibility alone." Other than demanding a stimulus package, the leader of the Liberal Party wanted nothing to do with sharing in the fiscal governance of our country, despite our minority parliament, so now he can't share any of the glory for the remarkable performance.

Somehow I expect some of the video below to find their way into campaign commercials whenever we get back to the polls...

  1. The Libs advisors truly believed that the great recession would do in PMSH.

    They were so very wrong.

  3. Ignatieff also said to the dimwit reporters on the the step to the parliament " I have no intentions of wearing the deficit on my shoulders." Basically putting it- 'screw all you canadians because your problems is not my/our(meaning the opposition and the media)problems.

At the most crucial time during the recession when parliament should come together for the betterment and solution to way us through the recesion. the opposition wallow in self pity for some unselfish reason of theirs, leaving PMSH Jim Flagerty to take the bull by the horns by themselves ; without a media at their side to do what was best for our nation and to help others in need.

The canadian public together with the conservative party rode this recession and we the public understood the dilemma which faced the government- to let them run the country as see fit.

Canadians grew up in many way and understand that STEPHEN HARPER AND THE CONSERVATIVE were are and will be there for them. while the other parties disappear(hide).

  4. This is a jewel of a video, it shows Ignatiev's true ability. Prime Minister Harper and his team deserves more respect from the MSM.

    Canadians deserve a Conservative Majority.

    Thanks for posting this video.

    Best regards

  5. I'm not surprised at all that it's gone a year early and many billions less that anticipated as well. That's what happens when debt is less it's quicker to pay off. I'm not surprised that this wasn't the leading story on every newscast. Can you imagine the pride we could have as a country if accomplishments were reported as often as faux news stories. SunTV hurry up, i can't wait, i swear to god i'll be the first to subscribe! Sometimes i like to watch the news instead of read it but right now i really have no choice. I like fox but i want Canadian content (not legistlated, I just want it because I'm interested in interesting happenings in my own country). Foxlike not CBClike. I stopped watching the news a long time ago, i miss it.
