Mallick's Back

Heather Mallick is once again writing for the CBC where she discusses her views on literature, selling books, and writing in general. She even claims that the National Post has offered to PAY her to become a subscriber. Evidently the Post covets Heather's inclusion in their online community, be it as a writer or just a reader. Nowhere in her CBC essay does she even mention Stephen Harper or the government of Canada, so this is not in the same class as saying Conservative men are sexually inadequate. It is possible that the CBC instructed her to remove the partisanship for any of her work they publish, but you have to wonder why they would even publish her work at all. She has a history of divisiveness, and would certainly be a useful literary ally if the Liberals wanted to engage in a full blown culture war blitzkrieg.

I think Fox News described her best:

  1. That is good news, they dragged the rat back to sink with the mother ship.

She will quicken the sinking, just coz she is well hated in Canada.

  2. Are we shocked? The CBC have no difficulty having their own internal audits to clear up any confusion if they are objective.

The public websites that I have seen have clearly taken the view they are left of centre.

I concur with HP just another catalyst to speed up the demise of a public broadcaster that can't crack produce a top 30 weekly shows.

What does the CBC contribute to our culture if tiny crowds are watching?

Why does the CBC use tax dollars to air American Game shows or International Sporting Events without Canada's participation? How much to air World Cup?

  3. Another female so called journalist telling us why the cbc should not get any more public funding. Today, Jacobs also goes off the wall with her take on the census. Guess we should all e-mail Fox to let them know she represents about .0005% of what real candians think.

  4. Not that I think online petitions accomplish anything, but I would sure like to see CBC destroyed. A citizen revolt is the only thing that's gonna get that done.
