G20 Lawsuit

A group of G20 protestors are engaging in a class action lawsuit against the taxpayers asserting that they suffered emotional damages as a result of the police action in the streets of Toronto. On the first day of protests windows were smashed while rioters armed with Molotov cocktails lit multiple police cars on fire. The police faced widespread criticism for not doing enough to stop the violence, and so right the next morning they started making arrests. Anyone who went out on the streets to protest the next day had to know that there was risk of harm, be it by the rioters or the riot police. After the violence on the first day, it takes a special kind of thrill seeker to go out on the streets the next day and aggressively confront police who had to watch their cars burn the day before.

Nobody was killed or seriously hurt, and while I support the right to peaceful protest; know that if there is violence on the first day, the police will be more proactive on the second day. I personally hope this lawsuit is thrown out of court.

  1. I wonder if I can file suit against these goons because of the emotional damage I suffered by witnessing their wanton destruction on television?

  2. I think the people of Toronto suffered much more emotional suffering than these idiots did. They should be fined very heavily and some thrown in jail for a very long time. Anarchy cannot be tolerated in this country.

  3. The drunk frat boy that insists on trying to grope the bikers girlfriend and then wonders why he's spitting teeth out. Same deal when you confront riot police with threats of physical injury and even death. Don't be surprised if you get filled in.

  5. And who is paying for the anarchists little trip into the world of order?

  6. I read someplace that they were trying to get their costs covered by the govt, but failed and they then asked for donations. Maybe some of those mommies and daddies they called when arrested could put up the money.
I was offended and emotional upset by being forced to watch the replay of their actions every few minutes on TV.
We need to file a class action suit against the protesters. Same with a class action against greenpeace.
