Everybody Loves Prentice

Listening to the most recent edition of the CBC's At Issue, I was surprised to hear Chantal Hebert sing praise for Jim Prentice, saying that he is an incredible talent who will be irreplaceable. The loss, according to Chantal, will be costly to caucus productivity. Why do I find this praise confusing? Rewind to February of this year, when Hebert went on a tirade against Prentice on the At Issue, openly accusing him of "Quebec bashing" and attacking all Quebecers. How does a guy go from one day being francophobic, to being a great asset that the Prime Minister will not be able to replace?

Look, Chantal wanted to put a negative spin on the resignation and paint it as a costly loss for Stephen Harper. Some people remember that she all but accused Prentice of a hate crime when Jim criticized a bad policy decision by Premier Jean Charest. Chantal, je me souviens...

  2. I have met Jim Prentice. My impression of him was that he is an empty suit. He had no concept of the global warming fraud. He had no intellectual curiosity. This of course qualifies him to be the next 'conservative' leader.

  3. Chantal is a progressive. She is a must read not because we agree with anything she says but because she does understand political tactics (not strategy) and she’s using those tactics here against Conservatives.

Having said that, Jim Prentice did his best to manage the AGW religion. And that’s what it is, a religion. It is up to “we the people” to mute the AGW religion. Conservatives are hypocritical to expect their government to kill this religion, we have to do it ourselves and it will take a long time because a whole generation has been misguided on the subject in the MSM and in Academia.

I’ve met Prentice several times, he’s highly competent. He was in a no win situation against the anti-NAFTA Obamarx gang who would have loved Prentice to lurch into to how brilliant we are in Canada to be ahead of the curve on the rest of the world’s ignorance about ClimateGate. Then the Obamarx gang would have fed its union base and stopped imports from the non-compliance of Canada in the Climate file. Instead Prentice guided us through this mess by simply dragging our heels on the subject until sanity returned to Washington.

Prentice will indeed be missed by the CPC.
